An Importer of Record (IOR) is the authorized entity responsible for complying with all customs regulations, ensure suitable documentation, responsible for the import process and pay tax&duty . An Exporter of Record ( EOR) is defined as the agency or person that has the legal responsibility to ensure they are complying with all export regulations and laws. The exporter of record must obtain all licenses and permits required by the country of origin to export the goods.
Understanding Tax&Duty in Vietnam
Customs Duties: be applied from 0-35% value cargo, this depending on the type of product. For most IT equipment, the duty rate typically ranges from 0% to 20%. This depend on HS code, goods descriptions, intended use, Datasheet.
Value-Added Tax (VAT): is an indirect tax levied on final consumers, although the entities that pay it to the tax authority are businesses. The standard VAT rate in Vietnam is 10%.This is applied to the total value goods.
Special Consumption Tax: is usually applied to goods: Beer, alcohol, tobacco, Airplanes and yachts (for civil use), cars, All types of gasoline, Air conditioners.
Environmental Protection Tax: is usually applied to goods: Gasoline, oil, grease, Coal, plastic bags
